Tyne Valley BnB is bordered by Trout river, a tidal river that empties into Malpeque Bay approximately four miles North at Lennox Island. Surrounded by Malpeque Bay, Lennox Island offers walking trails, sea kayaking, deep sea fishing, shopping at authentic Native craft shops as well as Prince Edward Island’s only aboriginal history museum.
Right around the corner from the BnB is The Landing Oyster House and Pub restaurant where you can join the fun at Thursday Night Trivia, or take in an evening of live music on Saturday nights. Just 5 minutes drive away is Green Park Shipbuilding Museum and Historic Yeo House. Also in the neighbourhood are Bideford Parsonage Museum, Green Gable Alpacas Farm, and the PEI Shellfish Museum.
The immediate area has lots of attractions, including the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival, hosted in our tiny community at the beginning of every August. We have three different apple orchards nearby, one within walking distance, where a large variety of apples, plums and pears can be picked in late September and early October. To the North West of Tyne Valley, you'll find lovely beaches, golf courses, fishing communities, cycling trails, wind farms, and lighthouses.
To the East, Summerside and Charlottetown, and their abundance of historical, cultural and tourist attractions, are only 35 to 75 minutes car drive away, respectively.
